
Garbage
McLennan residential waste collection is contracted to the Smoky River Regional Waste Commission.
Residential waste is collected every Wednesday. Residents must have their waste on the curb side by 8:30 a.m. on Wednesdays. Residents on 3rd Avenue (Highway) will have their garbage picked up in the back alley.
What will be collected…
- Maximum 4 parcels of waste per week.
- Maximum parcel weight 50 lbs.
- Waste securely packaged in plastic bags and placed in animal proof containers.
- Bundles clippings from shrubs & trees securely tied & not exceeding 4 feet in length.
Parcels: Combination of Plastic bags of waste and bundled items.
Extra Tags can be purchased for $1 each at the Town Office. The driver will only pick-up four parcels unless the excess parcel(s) are tagged.
What will not be collected…
- Liquid waste (paint, oil, etc.)
- Animal carcass or noxious matter
- Hazardous or unacceptable waste
- E-Waste (TV’s, computers, etc.)
SMOKY RIVER REGIONAL LANDFILL
Summer Hours: May 1 - September 30
Days: Tuesdays & Saturdays
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Winter Hours: October 1 - April 30
Days: Tuesdays & Saturdays
Hours: 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m
The regional landfill is located west of McLennan. From McLennan go west on Highway 2 approximately 20 km then turn North on Range Road 213 (Agri-Core Road just east of the Town of Falher) and the landfill is located approximately 4 km north from the highway.
