Food Bank Services
The food bank is a non-profit organization that helps those in need with nutritional food items and general care products.
The food bank uses a two-fold system for those who require services and those who may wish to donate to the program.
How to access the services.
When in need, a person can access the food bank program by filling out an application at any of the municipal offices in the region or by contacting FCSS directly.
The application is then sent by FCSS to the High Prairie Food Bank for review and decisioning.
Once a decision is made, FCSS will give you a call regarding your application on whether it is approved, denied or requires further information. If approved a location, date and time for pick up will be established between you and the FCSS client service worker. FCSS will provide hamper deliveries to the McLennan Municipal Office for pickup.
How to donate.
Donations of food can be made at the local grocery stores including Bigway Lakeview Foods in McLennan, the Coop and IGA grocery stores in Falher or directly at the FCSS office. FCSS also accepts monetary donations at the thier Falher office.
Donations are always welcome. Those wishing to donate to the Food bank can donate items such as those listed below. When making non-perishable item donations please review the expiry date as no expired items can be distributed to those in need.
